Let it ride, with Richard Dreyfus wasn't bad.

The Sting wins hands down though, for me.

The Gambler, starring James Caan. Based on the famous book. Every gambler should see it and every gambler can identify with the lead character and his behaviour and his ups and downs.

Big Deal. It's not a movie, it's a 1970s TV series about a poker player. But it's British, which is always a selling point. I don't think it's ever on the box but you can get it on DVD from Amazon. If you like stuff from the time of Minder or the Sweeney, you'll love this.

Casino 100% nap (v underrated due to Goodfellas being seen as Scorseses classic (which it is, but Casino is also very good)

Rounders much better than reviews said, like the characters (Ed Nortons loser and Damon going 'all in'), although Malcovich's accent is hilarious

lucky number slevin (imho) was awful, almost as bad as Smokin Aces, which was one of the worst films ive seen in a decade of going to the cinema 2/3 times a month

agree with you gt murphys stroke is great, niall tobin excellent ! the cincinnati kid enjoyable but the showdown is too farfetched. the sting an enjoyable buddy movie, rounders a good poker movie. casino a great movie set in vegas but not really about gambling. however my favourite and im surprised it hasnt been mentioned before is cool hand luke, paul newman at his best and some great gambling scenes.

'Eight Men Out' about the 'Black Sox' World Series scandal of 1919 is an excellent film.
