going to the o2 tomorrow afternoon/evening from paddington. not in any real rush so might give it a go, provided it's not too much hassle.

Second time was early evening and was rather staid in comparison because of the river traffic.

i'd say it depends on where you want to go. to get from paddington to embankment you probably want to take the tube (although if you have time to spare it's a nice walk through hyde park, past buckingham palace and westminster). if you're on the tube you may as well stay on it
