I find most bus drivers jobsworths,anybody would think its thier own money.On a bus the other day and had a run in with a misrible driver over getting on the bus early to avoid getting wet,told me to wait for him,i had a pass,i thought i was doing him a favour.

I've lost count of the number of times I've spoken to people at companies with unnecessary amounts of red tape or unpalatable clauses in their contracts. They are always surprised when I (rightly) object to them. Twunts.

My niece lives in Collier Row but goes to school in Brentwood, which is about 8 miles away. A few months back she got on the bus, but something was wrong with her Oystercard. She phoned her mum, who said she would meet her at the bus stop where she gets off, with the fare. The driver still wouldn't let her on. She had to wait for her mum to come and collect her. If it had been a winters night and dark and cold, I'm pretty sure my brother-in-law would have gone to the depot and had a word with the driver.

If that was my daughter i would have went absolutly ballistic. The same thing happened around here and the young girl fell asleep in the snow and died walking home :( only about 20

My niece is 15 now, was 14 then. The walk home, if undertaken, means going along the A12, busy road, but loads of fields. Dangerous.

at an airport check out witha newbie on the counter, weighed my laptop bag and told me it was over weight. Tried to reason with her, but no.
Took the mouse, adapter, three books and some other stuff out and put them in my jacket. Weighed ok. Stood in front of her, put all the stuff back in the laptop bag and walked off. Ave, it |

that's what i thought punter. what about taxis?
I get two buses each way to get to luton for work everyday. Two different bus companies so two different bus passes. Last bus for me to make the connection is 5.20pm. My connection leaves at 6.03. With all the traffic in Luton it is often v. close to missing it. It waits as late as 6.08 for the Bedford bus because that is run by the same company - "GRant Palmer", but not my bus because it iis run by "Stagecoach". (If I wanted to play footy on a weds night I have to use "Aviva", so the two bus passes still don't suffice). Anyway, got to my connection at about 6.05 yesterday and saw the back of the GP bus as it was leaving. I know the driver and he is a c.nut - and I'm sure he didn't wait for the Bedford bus,he just says it is 6.03 because that is what it says on the timetable. but all the other drivers have admitted that they are supposed to wait until 6.08. He knows I'm the only one that gets that bus but he can't wait. And then he misses out two other villages on the route home (because no one gets on there!!! what kind of fkin attitude is that) everynight so he actually gets to Biggleswade early. So he isn't so much a jobsworth as just a total c.unt. I had to carry on the bus to bedford then change and get another bus back to henlow and get picked up. |

Rob, you're lucky you don't work in Wisbech and live in one of the outlying villages. The last bus leaves the town at about 4-20 p.m.and goes all the way to facking Yarmouth (90 miles) They should shorten the route and lay on more buses at 5-15 p.m. for office workers.
You HAVE to have a car or a bike to work in Wsibech or it's a long walk home. And they wonder why the traffic is bad every day. :( |

traffic is horrendous on the bedford/luton road. I decided to count how many cars onl had one person in - the first 23 cars going past all had one person. |

Sticking with the bus driver theme.
Late at night on got on the bus and by mistake gave the driver the wrong money. He said '' right shape, wrong colour'' giving me back a 2 pence i gave instead of 10p. So i gave him a 20p. He never gave me my change. So i thought sod it and sat down. On the bus was a group of lads that had being on a night out drinking. They were noisy but no bother. One of them rang the bell for the next stop. Bus stopped. One of the lads shouted ''sorry mate its the next stop''. It was dark, raining and the bus was dirty. Easy mistake to make. Bus sets off and the bell goes again for the next stop. The driver goes straight past to the next stop.W*nker. |

Coming back after dinner at work one day (about 2000/2001), bumped into, Len, a lad a worked with. Big lad. 6'4ish, 20 odd stone, about 24 years old. Heart of pure gold. 'Where you off?', I sez.
