Sennheiser HD280 Pro's are magnificent and smash anything under £200, at amazon they are about £80 but if you look around you should be able to get them for £65-70 ish.

Decent headphones sounding conservative could be an eqing problem or more likely they aren't being driven enough by whatever they are plugged into, check the ohms brother.
