"Rosalita" was on the TV the other day, long fast paced song and (this is real live footage) birds throwing themsleves at him and even getting a full on french face suck. It's on you tube, well worth a watch if you've not seen it.
I'm surprised I've never noticed this before but a couple times in it I could see a strong Bon Jovi thing there (of course influence would be the other way around). Which when you think about it how huge Springsteen would have been when they were young, and both were from New Jersey never mind just the US, it's obvious how that could happen.

Much better imho than his later stuff like Glory Days or Dancing in the Dark etc. A bit like Elton John perhaps, churns out stuff that's a bit more wimpy and poppy as he gets older. FFS how could the man who wrote "Tiny Dancer" write vomit like "Nikita" or "Circle of Life".
Dancing in the Dark... If you watch the video for that, (and this is staged) the woman who gets on the stage to dance with him at the end is Courtney Cox of "Friends" fame.

Delighted some votes for New York City Serenade and Incident on 57th St. Thought I was the only one who loved those two!
Would have to go...
Thunder Road Meeting across the River and New York City Serenade
johnn is obviously a kindred spirit as Backstreets could easily have snuck in!
Honorable mentions to If I should fall behind - best version on MTV plugged - and Ghost of Tom Joad / Youngstown

I am a huge fan of his - but as good as it is, I don't rate The River as as good an album as some critics do.
Would certainly have at least three studio albums above it - comments?

Born to Run The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle Darkness on the Edge of Town
All ahead of The River imo - plus others possibly. If you are thinking about ending it all, Nebraska would give you that push you need!

Strangely enough I was watching Jerry Maguire this week and I love Springsteen's Secret Garden from the soundtrack:

We've given each other some hard lessons lately But we ain't learnin' We're the same sad story that's a fact One step up and two steps back
So simple but brilliant.

I was never much of a Bruce Springsteen fan growing up but I was persuaded to go and see him at Wembley Stadium back in the day. It remains one of the best concerts I've ever been to, that man put on a stupendous show. I'd go for I'm On Fire if I had to pick one track.

He gives fantastic value and, unfortunately, I think this is why I went deaf!!
Seriously difficult to come down to a favourite (most have been mentioned) but this is good fun... . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-Ds-FXGGQg
Forward to 2:40 to leave out the pre-amble.
Have to laugh at the drummer, who looks like he might work in a bank or something like.....

I love Bruce and as has been said, it's very difficult to come up with three favourites songs, as whatever album I'm playing at any one time can stake a claim. However the thing I love most is the storytelling, so I'll go with:

It was an interesting documentary. He came across as an extremely intelligent considered man, far more so than I expected.
He's like the yank version of Robbie Williams or Little Mix - a true philospher of his time
