People in Cumbria - you have my sympathy....

I've just been past**ermouth........it's carnage!!

theyve had a third of a years rainfall in 3 days

looks like more is coming, and severe gales tomorrow. I really feel sorry for them

A foot of rain in 24 hours, I've never heard of such torrential rainfall in the U.K. before, must be a complete nightmare for the locals they have my sympathy.

if it rains in the hills the southside might get it as well

Carlisle's two golf courses have been well and truly gubbed, as has the main field which is used for concerts and bonfire night.

No house, to my knowledge, has been breached thus far, which means the recently-built defences are holding good. So far. Two more days of solid rain - over the weekend especially - will almost certainly claim some victims.

sympathy to anyone caught up in that lot - just seen it on C4 news, terrible scenes :(

Had a nosey about this afternoon. The bridge that takes you into the Sheepmount was probs half a metre above the River Caldew. Bitts Park, and the other side of that road that takes you to the tennis courts, is all water.

carnage in Cumbria..feel sad for people caught up in the flooding.
