Just looking - there is a nice little village just outside Luton, 55k for a nice looking 2 bed "park home". Nice little garden, nice little village, all nice really.

The other way of looking at it is 55k for a fkin caravan? are you mad. But bearing in mind you would pay 55k for a one bed flat with no garden in Luton town centre it seems like a bargain. Would be a bit embarassing telling people you live in a caravan though.

I'm not a pikey btw.

I might be wrong but do you not have to live off site for a set amonunt of time a year.

IE the park has to shut from Jan-March ?

Caravan parks used to close (normally) between the first week in November and the last week in March.

Park homes are different legislation. They stay open all year as they are classed as residents not holidaymakers.

Normally for the over 50s only, they don't allow children to live there, or pets.

Park home for £60k in Hullbridge or a 1 bed flat in Newham for £120k. No comparison.

don't think so dmc. may be true if you're in great yarmouth or skegness but not in a little village outside luton - it isn't big holiday area tbh. Did notice that you have to be 55yo or more to stay in the one I noticed but there are others.

Egg, the in-laws lived in Hullbridge in a park home, until we moved up here, then my Mrs wanted them closer :( so we stumped up 20% or 25% (can't remember which) towards their house, which is just round the corner from us.

All I have to do now is outlive the bastids to get my money back.

Easier said than done as they're only 7 years older than me. :(

I spent an afternoon in Hullbridge. Something about that park made it look like one of the most depressing places I've visited.

I think there 3 parks in Hullbridge, they were in the smallest one. Turn right by the yacht club and there are a few houses on the right, the entrance to their park was just past the last house, on the opposite side of the road.

I didn't venture out much when we visited, the only water I saw was either the River Crouch or River Blackwater, not sure which.
