i like a joke as much as anyone....indeed some of my posts have often been in poor taste but.......this incident has happened in my locality and i can tell you that everyone up here is feeling it!......a totally horrible incident, credit to the bloke, he got a call at 5am this morning to say that members of the public were attempting to cross a dangerous bridge!.....how many men would have run the other way or stood and watched?.....he didnt give it another thought and fell to his death trying to stop a bus from crossing the bridge!

and for the record....i hate the police as much as the next man!.....but credit where its due!

sonko....it was a bloody large bridge....and it is lucky that this happened at 5am.....on a normal afternoon 10/15 vehicles would have been stood at the point where it collapsed!........that will be of no consolation to p.c barkers family i know!........i hope the guy gets the turn out he deserves for his funeral!.....a hero in my eyes!

My older brother is a policeman, without being dramatic he risks his life every day he puts the uniform on, he never knows what to expect from one day to the next. He would dive in and help save anyones life.
Very poor form to start such a thread denis, if it hits the fan in your world who do you rely on to help you?
