It's right in the middle of the current deluge and the ground up here is totally saturated. It was flooded in 2005. Here's a link to that event.

The river levels are HIGH in Carlisle. Too high for comfort. I just drove over a bridge which crosses the River Caldew, and the water was one metre away from touching it. It's usually a good five/six metres below.

River Eden is the main one. The Caldew and Petteril are smaller ones. Three in total.

If I wasn't such a lazy sod I'd go down to the Caldew near my house, take a picture, and upload it. I'm a two-minute run away from it.

Like I said though, I'm far too lazy... :D

I wonder if that Panasonic 42" tv will get passed around Warwick rd again for insurance claims ;)

I should be safe on Norfolk rd, I'll pass a rubber ring to anyone passing by!

During the last floods as I didn't get flooded I quite enjoyed the experience. Walking around town without any phone reception or electric working & all the shops closed & helicopters flying overhead it was like being in that film The day after tomorrow :)

Half a mile from the county fair
And the rain keep pourin down
Me and billy standin there
With a silver half a crown
Hands are full of a fishin rod
And the tackle on our backs
We just stood there gettin wet
With our backs against the fence

Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Oh, the water
Hope it don't rain all day

Going on a hunt shortly. Starting at the bike path that goes to Dalston, then on towards the confluence of the Caldew and the Eden.

My mate's just text me saying the Waterworks End of Brunton Park is flooded. Not sure how badly.
