i like nina simone, joni mitchell amongst others. I don't hardly know any modern singers tbh. You should know better than to make assumptions.

Shirley Bassey is simply awful imo.

I could easily name 20 by Shirley Bassey.

I liked Dusty Springfields voice as well.

Elaine Page can belt one out.

Wouldn't give you tuppence for Cilla Black, Helen Shapiro, Lulu or Sandy Shaw, but they had number 1s.
