I think i starting sussing on to the no santa thing when i realised dad was leaving out mince pies and cans of murphy. There was no chnace he would normally share them.

I worked with a bloke in Rainham years ago who told his 7 year old son ' There aint no father xmas, I drive a lorry to Spain and back to pay for everything. No fat bloke in a red suit brings you anything.'

Santa died of a cerebral hemorrhage when I was 8,dad burst into the room and broke the news,dad stank of whiskey and was very upset about santa (not half as much as me though),turns out he almost made it dropping dead 100 yards from the chimney,I spent Boxing day writing a letter of condolence to his widow.

My little brother went a lot later, he was nearly 13 and in tears :D |
