.... had a spring in my back all night, new matress now required.
Had a quick look round and theres that many dont know where to start. Whats the best to get brandwise etc.....
Need a double size 6ft3 x 4ft7.... Dont want one of them memory foam things though.

but seriously I do need a new one quite urgent already done the turning it upside down / wrong way round routine. the missus sides alright but this springs doing my back in :(

I bought a memory foam one about 4 years ago.
Absolutely fantastical.
No springs or bobbles or bumps, and lovely and warm - it seems to hold the heat in.
Not cheap though.About 350 if I remember rightly.

had a Slumberland mattress for years which was very good, got a new Millbrook one now, expensive,
but have to say preferred the Slumberland one, I'd say pocket spring system is best,
and choosing the right comfort level is important as well, softer, standard or firmer.
It's your own individual choice, this new bed is fine for the missus so maybe not adjusted to it yet.
If you get very warm in bed those memory foam mattresses can make you hot and uncomfortable,
but they suit some people fine, so individual choice of comfort.
