Don't often spend a night in front of telly - and tonight did not reach for remote once ...

8:00 - 9:00 James May - toy stories - 3mile scalextrix track roundBrooklands - superb.

9.00 - 10.00 Horizon .. Alan Davies and Quantum theory ... fascinating and mind bending

10:00 - 10:30 Jools Holland ... pretty good

and then if you haven't seen it .

11.30 - 12:30 Matt Frei on Berlin (shown Saturday) ... very very good

Never normally praise BBC but this level of programming - advert free - on second channel is best in the world.

BBC 2 and 4 make the licence fee worth paying. BBC 1 and 3 make me rage about the cost of it though.

It surprised me that Frei was German. He has a voice you can listen to for hours.
