Oz isn't that hot mid summer in the populated areas . Widespread myth .

Alice and the north will be roasting guaranteed
Report The Magic Flea November 17, 2009 12:39 PM GMT
shouldn't you say wasn't? Sydney has been baking these past few years
Report Coachbuster November 17, 2009 12:40 PM GMT
Magic ..Sydney isn't in the tropics
Report Coachbuster November 17, 2009 12:41 PM GMT
Its climate is very similar to that of Lisbon
Report Coachbuster November 17, 2009 12:42 PM GMT
Melbourne was extremely hot last summer ,far hotter than Sydney
Report The Magic Flea November 17, 2009 12:43 PM GMT
I know it isn't in the tropics. All I am saying, confirmed by the ozzers, is that the summers are becoming hideously hot. Same goes for spain and portugal btw
Report The Magic Flea November 17, 2009 12:43 PM GMT
anyway, over 40 degrees in victoria in november cannot be normal
Report Coachbuster November 17, 2009 12:46 PM GMT
yeah ,it will be interesting to se eif the trend continues .... you get thse waves from time to time .

In the english midlands 4 very warm summers were followed by 3 very cool summers .

So maybe its like a roulette table RBBBRRBRBBRRRRBBBRBRBRBRBBRBRRR and so on .

purely sequences
Report The Magic Flea November 17, 2009 12:46 PM GMT
very possible, but from what i have seen of spain the trend is only in one direction
Report Coachbuster November 17, 2009 12:50 PM GMT
Does seem weird i guess , but then what could cause such extemes of temperature in such a short space of time ?
Report Coachbuster November 17, 2009 12:52 PM GMT
If it was over 50 years i'd be more concerned.

The global temperatures are on the up .... but with moves to combat global warming taking their time we will never find out if it will ever be reversed

it is spring weather in London at the moment. The poor trees must be very confused. I think we will have a very cold january or february.

Surfers

I lived in Lane Cove near the nature reserve park in Sydney for a year. I was walking down to Chatswood and thought I had trod in some tar or chewing gum on the way down. Had a quick check and discovered the soles on my European shoes were melting in the 50 odd degree heat. I have never known anything like it in all my life, completely debilitating.
Report G1_Jockey_4 November 17, 2009 7:12 PM GMT
ffs surfers in in the gold coast not brisbane ;)
Report Joel November 17, 2009 8:49 PM GMT

christmas eve i was in sydney last year, was quite cool. bin there other times and it is fkin horrendously hot for me. was there one june/july as well one year - really quite cold and like ostriches they keep their head in the sand pretending it doesn't get cold so no one ever has any heating. alice springs was fkin baltic - ice on the rock at 6am iirc.

Temperaturexaggerationitis .

The act of beliieving a temperture is much higher than it actually is because one has just arrived back from holiday there.

example : It was 42 in the Costa Brava when i was there in July !

[i] Really ?,thats amazing ,even though the all time record there is 40c ?
Report secong coming. November 17, 2009 10:17 PM GMT
it was 41 out the back of my place yesterday in brisbane
Report RLKingPunter November 17, 2009 10:19 PM GMT
