fantastic bit of kit for all genres - cost more than the players though!

With phones like those you would notice a massive difference with a Cowon.

What's the capacity? My iPod is great with Shure SE-530s and has 160 gig, which can get about 80% of my music on it.

I bought the 16gb version, don't need my whole 70 odd gb collection on the move.

I got those headphones after I got 2 yankees up in 2 days on here about 6 months ago and won nearly 10k - wouldn't normally spend that much! Curious - to an extent maybe but there is so much else take into account - compression and quality of mp3's to start with. I use a mac anyway so my 'touch' also acts as a remote for my computer so it makes sense for me to have that but I'm not an ipod fascist. I still hold that with a decent part of headphones you couldn't really tell 1 mp3 player from another.

So are those Shure SE530s really worth the £220 I need to pay for them?

I had a pair of Bose phones prior to the SE-530s, (cost around £70 at the time). The Shure's are a dramatic improvement, not only in sound quality, but also in fit / comfort. I's say if £220 is not a problem for you for something like this, then get them, otherwise you can get cheaper versions of Shure phones that will do a good job for you I'm sure (forgive the pun).

Here's a brief review I just located:

Representing the earphone camp, Shure's SE530s are arguably the best earphones in the world; they're also among the most expensive. With three separate drivers in each ear, they produce a massive wall of sound, each with loads of detail, amazing mids and skull-crushing bass, but at the expense of your wallet.
