it doesn't affect small arbers
Report mitchell downie November 15, 2009 9:46 PM GMT
Thanks Darren, I don'y pay this but I'm hopeful I may in the future.

What's the highest charge you would pay. I've never really looked into it as it doesn't affect me, but say for example you win £1,000,000 every year.

What percentage of this would you lose, on top of commission?
Report mitchell downie November 15, 2009 9:47 PM GMT
clarky9 would know, but he's obviously got other priorities at the mo.
Report jimmy69 November 15, 2009 9:48 PM GMT
You could easily win 1 million pounds a year and not pay the PC.

Really Jimmy, no idea how it works, but that sounds encouraging.
Report mitchell downie November 15, 2009 9:53 PM GMT
Thanks Darren, had a glance at that, but really wanted a quick figure.

So 20% tops, is that right?
Report Mighty Whites 2008 November 15, 2009 9:56 PM GMT
basically you can win upto a 1000 overall without paying it. After that it depends how much commission you have paid before it kicks in
Report mitchell downie November 15, 2009 10:12 PM GMT
Thanks, is that £1k in a month or what?
Report Coachbuster November 15, 2009 10:31 PM GMT
22.5% is the magic figure Canny lad.(aggregated with commission )

unless as jimmy suggested you are able to pick big winners and endure heavy losses to somehow circumnavigate the charge with commission .
Report mitchell downie November 15, 2009 10:33 PM GMT
Thanks for that Coach. I'll be laying only unfortunately, so looks like I'll be a 22.5 percenter if things go according to plan.
Report Coachbuster November 15, 2009 10:35 PM GMT
mitchell ... 1000 is the element they allow you free ...this is a one off allowance nowadays ,and is based on a LIFETIME

in other words , if you win 10,000 this year from scratch ,you will pay

5% (2.5%) generated = £250

20% premium charge = 2,000 (-250)

total payable , = 1,750
allowance (one off) = 1,000

total payable =750

if you contine to win after this ,calculate at 22.5 %

ok mate, many thanks for that. My cunnning plan is only at the development stage, but I should be making mega bucks before long. The animal charities will be well rewarded. :-)
Report Coachbuster November 15, 2009 10:50 PM GMT
Canny , if i knew a way for you to avoid it i would tell you mate .... some try to 'arb' their way out of paying it .

Dont ask me how and where they get the prices lol .

Best of luck Canny anyway ;)

Cheers Coach, this is the most interesting strategy I've seen in 40 years of gambling, pity I'm not 25 again.

Have you worked the strategy on modest stakes yet to give it a good test run , Canny ?
Report mitchell downie November 15, 2009 11:05 PM GMT
tbh, it's not really my stategy, but I've tried it on all sorts of stakes. Favouring the 5% of bank approack.
