The best freebie I got in a long time:

https://www.britishgas.co.uk/productoffers

Enter code EF1. There is qualifying criteria but its a wide range so most should qualify, just enter your national insurance no. You don't even have to be a British Gas customer.

You get a 6 way extension socket that can be operated by remote control and also an electricity monitor so you can keep track of what appliances are using the most electric. Must be worth £100.

Oval, surely most people don't qualify for this BG offer?

You have to have a sponger or pensioner living in your house.

I must be a sponger :0

We qualified through our son who is on income support. Guess you'll still get it if your a British Gas customer.

It helps you see what is using the electricity, you have to make the changes. I don't really use the monitor but it is a useful tool.

The 6 way socket is great, put it on your TV set up and then at night just press the switch off button. I think I remember reading that all these big TV's use 1/3 of the electricity while on Stand By, we have a Plasma TV and it is power hungry, the socket saves us overnight.

Just read, its £55 worth of gear.
