I looked into a kebab shop window on one hot sunny afternoon in August.
The elephants foot had been turned off and was coated not only in a white lard but tons of blowflies. I suppose when it sparks
up it helps to sanitise it but your mates experience may prove otherwise.

ah well, could be worse.

Hate it when you're in a town you're not accustomed to and make the inevitable choice of picking a poor takeaway to buy food from.

kebabs are always a poor choice wherever you are

So maybe it wasn't maggots but bits of sliced up intestine.

I will never eat another kebab as long as i live. Good old fashioned **ot and *****for me (at least we know what's in it, or do we?).

last had a kebab about 4 years ago, fcucking filth of a food, well those elephant legs are. chicken kebab at a push but the rest you can shove. get some respect for your body.

I am lucky enough to live near a very good kebab shop. They have distinction certificates from the council for hygiene, and cook beautiful food.

If anyone lives in Bexley/Welling, it's called Kebabies in Pickford lane.

treble do you know that pie and mash shop just as you come off the A2 and go on the south circular? Always wanted to know if its worth a stop. Ali's I think it's called.

I got a pie from m and s it was aberdeen angus beef with a stilton gravy it cost 3 quid but id pay 10, it was absolutley superb :)

there are so many holes in the old 'maggot in a kebab' story - for starters the person serving the kebabs would notice and is hardly likely to serve it, secondly no matter how**ed anybody is they would notice (well 95% of the time) for starters. I don't doubt that maggots have been found in dinner ladies leg kebab sticks but not served in large numbers to customers - mate of mine thought the same till we told him he'd had a stuffed vine leaf and puked it up!

very nice, but not the best. you are better off going into Bexleyheath to the originally named 'The Pie Shop'. Very nice.

You dont have to eat in. What I used to do is go and buy 2 pies and a pot of liquor. Go home, chill the pies and liquor down then later on bake the pies at 180 for about 20-25 mins. Meanwhile pour the liquor in a saucepan and gently heat up. For mash, the best substitute you can get is Aunt Bessies frozen mash. Pretty much exactly what the shop use. Microwave it, no butter, just fluff up and serve with the pie and liquor.

Now, my mums boss has a friend who owns a shop in southend. We normally get about 15 pies a time and 8 pints of liquor and freeze it all up.

How do you mean? Pie and mash has always been about the one crispy crust minced beef pie.

okay i didnt know that i live in the north east but seen the shops in films and music videos etc.

SI know you're a northerner, but resist the urge to put gravy on it. Totally ruins the experience.

i used to think that but is ok, but not as nice as liquor.

Russians and kebabs

i just ate a kebab, dont normally touch them just orderd it on a panicy hungry whim

been in a kebab shop twice this year and both times picked up some chicken pakora with garlic sauce, no complaints and no maggots

wouldnt touch the **e on the wheel if you paid me

aye I dinna eat a donner kebab either, pure sh!te, like chicken pakora though!
