Redbag, between them and the same day loan merchants at 3000 % interest, it seems every 2nd advert is trying to screw the people who can least afford it.
I thought there were advertising standards, thieving fks, the lot of 'em |

Seems their is no limit on how to fleece joe public.
By:
they are basically taking advantage of less unfortunate people and it p1sses me off
By:
me too, its all wrong. They would probably not give them anything near the true value.

The worst offenders are the 'Buy this sofa now, then pay nowt for a year, then 4 years interest free credit' merchants. Mrs Curry's mate bought one and it was in the skip BEFORE she'd started paying for it, wrecked by her kids. OK, you could say her kids are loonies but it's 'offers' like this that gets half-wits like her in debt.
By:
You can add the lottery and scratchcards to that list, just a tax on the poor or stupid.
By:
and cadburys creme eggs
By:
curry how can you blame the shop for having the offer on. If your m8 can't afford it then she shouldn't well ** even look at it, let alone have it on finance. Blame everybody else but themselves these ppl, JOKE!

Gordan Brown is behind it all, he's try to replace all the gold he nicked off of the British Taxpayers.
By:
You're right simon, she's the half-wit for 'signing up' but if the shops didn't make it so easy for half-wits like her to get into debt, the country wouldn't be in so much of a mess. Unfortunately some people do need that level of nannying because they can't see further than their nose.

redbag why do you care? people who fall on hard times are being facked over by no good**ts thats why!!! |

The point re: the sofas is that they are usually worth no where near the price asked for them.
sister has an open house policy with endless visitors and kids in and out of the house. the sofas take some beating. she buys hers for cash at a warehouse for around £400 and renews it every year or so. Her mate decided she liked her last one and paid £900 for the same thing from DFS. It has lasted slightly longer and she has no kids etc. Pure and simple con. |

By:
Before the property collapse, who can forget the ads on ATR, every 2nd one was, ''Do you need money, why not consolidate your debts?'' after every race. They were hoping you'dd done your boll ox, borrow money and not pay it back so that they could take your house off you.
These are the same people, just a different market. |
By:
If these fewckwits hadn't wasted all their dole money on some tacky sovereign ring in the first place they wouldn't be in need of cash now.

By:
why pick on gold traders?...think every other speculative vehicle....
By:
then there are the mobile phone buyers, webuyanycar.com, Ocean finance, insurance/had an accident and want to make a claim companies and money to payday companies
By:
One wonders why they weren't placing these adverts at Gordies all-time-low prices rather than now at new highs. Strangeways to do biz.
By:
the phone thing bugs me too, i doubt you get a fraction of what the phone is really worth.
By:
The first thing you would be mad to send gold by post. Second i'd be very suprised if you get anyway near its value. Third do they ask for proof of ownership. Because if not its a muggers dream. Rob goods and then cash them in by post.
By:
We could be dangerously near the point where the worth of gold is actually in its usefuleness rather than its perceived worth.
Functionally it is good but not that good. We are not in the middle ages anymore, someone could be left holding a very heavy useless baby. |
By:
Wont belong before people start robbing teeth.
By:
The gold thing: isn't part of the scam that a lot of gold is worth more as jewellery than its scrap value by weight?
By:
Buying low, selling high....sounds familiar....

Robbers charter ! Steal the gold ,post it off , get money. These people offering this 'service' are no better than the 'bloke in a pub' - i.e a fence!

By:
it is one of the most bizarre businesses around.
How do they get away with it ? |

This entire 'industry' is one of the most breathtakingly obvious and shameless 'buy low sell high' scams seen in years.
By:
well said alun..exploitation of the highest order
By:
Remember, the ones that advertise the most have the highest overheads and pay the least. 40% of market value in the case of cash4gold. As low as 25% elsewhere.

this company is a bit different, tell them they have cash then the seller is elated.
