Britons are among the ugliest people in the world, according to a website that only allows 'beautiful' people to join.
Fewer than one in eight British men (12 per cent) and just three in 20 women (15 per cent) who have applied to BeautifulPeople.com have been accepted as members.
Existing members of the website rate how attractive potential members are over a 48 hour provisional period, when applicants upload a recent photograph and a short personal profile.
Swedish men have proved the most successful applicants, with two-thirds (65 per cent) of those putting themselves forward being accepted.
Norwegian women are considered the most beautiful with more than three-quarters (76 per cent) making the grade.
Since the website was opened to UK members 295,000 people have applied, with only 35,000 being approved.

I would suggest that may be more likely to indicate that the Brits are more deluded about their looks.

The amount of borderline boilers roaming around who think they are something special beggars belief. And to think that some of them think they have a chance with a handsome chap like myself!

I caught up with an old schoolfriend recently who told me of this site and that he had been accepted on it. He had also met some of the women on there with much success.
He is tall, but other than that, he is quite geeky and at school looked like our textbook photo of Trotsky.
So I think its just about luck, rolling a dice, as to whether you get on!

Why would English women be less attractive than say Swedish for example ?
must be to do with the make up and application ,or the profile they send in ,cant see any other reason really .

There are very few things that annoy me more than the bints who walk round thinking they're gorgeous, when in actual fact they are ugly. And the ones who scowl all the time... SMILE!!! You look a lot nicer when you do so.

Why are many Russian females so hot whereas the Russian males are squareheads. I always pondered that.
