Canary, I can empathise with your situation only too well.

My back went earlier this year. Never felt anything like it. I had to crawl around on all fours until the painkillers arrived, couldn't stand upright. I cry at nothing, but I felt like it that day.

food poisoning is up there as it's about 36 hours of pure nausea, drowsiness, the runs ,vomiting...and you cant really stop it either

very painful as you cant even sleep, ure just in bed, waiting for the next vomit or sh1t

the sulphur burps are the most sickening - when the body wants to throw up, but all it can muster is stomach gas - the 'hello, you still there mate?' from the bacteria

most helpless ive ever felt.

titan, you've just reminded me of something.

Years ago, early 90s I went to a big music festival in the south west (you know the one). Really, really hot. On the monday morning they were selling ice cold unpasturised milk, so people were buying it and sharing a bottle. I had a whole 2 pints to myself.

Few days later everyone had the two penny bits except me. Lasted for about 2 days. I thought it was hilarious as I wasn't affected. Then it started and didn't stop for 10 days. I was sh!tting blood after a while, my insides has been cut to ribbons I'd been to the toilet that often.

And I've never been back since!

Gout and broken arm for me but tbh neither hurt THAT much!!
Report Petrus Romanus November 12, 2009 1:40 PM GMT
Three things come to mind...I ruptured my cruciate ligament playing footie, anyway, many months later I ended up having reconstructive surgery. After a couple of days in the hospital a throng of nurses gathered round to remove the drains that had been placed inside my knee. There's not much to it, all they do is attach some pliers to the end of the tube poking out of your knee then pull it out as fast as they can. The reason for more than one nurse is so that after you've felt the pain from the first drain coming out they have to restrain you for the second one.

Whilst on one of my many outpatient visits for follow up checks I complained about an area of swelling on theinside of my leg just below the knee. It turned out to be fluid that had no place to go so they decided to vent it. I'm not one for needles and when I saw the size of the thing lying in the kidney tray on the trolley I knew it was gonna be bad. The doctor told me it was going to hurt. He wasn't wrong. To vent the fluid from the medial area of the knee they go in from the opposite side so as not to rip through your medial ligament...so basically they shove a needle right through the knee from one side to the other tthen suck out the fluid. I clearly remember the doctor telling me there was 'no need for abuse' when I yelled out 'B@stard' as he shoved the needle in. I also bit one of the nurses whose arm was acros my chest holding me down.

A third occasion occurred in a clap clinic in Dundee. I had a rash on my c0ck and I though I had better get it sorted so I made an appointment. The guy gets me to lie down and starts chit chatting about my job and sexual activity and all that. During the course of our conversation, and at a point where I was completely off guard, he jammed an 8 inch cotton bud down my**s eye which felt like I had been skewered to the table. It was in and out as quick as a flash but I kid you not it was extremely unpleasant. To add insult to injury I had to wait a week to see if my kn0b was going to fall off or not. To further terrorise me I was sent home armed with lots of pamphlets to read...one's about the nastiest of infections, some of which can kill you. I finally got summoned and it turned out that I didn't have any kind of std, I actually had an alergic reaction to some of the oils and greases we used at work.

Botched circumcision at 10yo, they used a plastic ring to hold back the remaining skin in those days, rather than stitch it. I had internal bleeding though, which meant a rapid increase in the size of the old fella, but not of the ring. Looked like the start of a balloon animal, when the first twist has been put in. No time for further numbing and what looked like secetaurs were used to remove the ring. the wound was then stitched.

As Bumble Lloyd was said after being caught in the balls by a Thomson fireball, I just wanted them to take away the pain, but leave the swelling!

I've since had around a dozen ops for various other injuries, nothing even comes close.

Mine is a textbook bollock incident, but lightweight compared to everyone elses. I was 9 or 10 playing at an adventure playground. It was like this giant wooden climbing frame, only as it was autumn the wood was damp and slippy. My legs splayed apart and I dropped full tilt on to my nads from several feet up. I then fell from the beam, kind of just rotating down to the ground. I was there for about an hour puking up with the pain.

I've also had the camera up the** because I had been p1ssing blood, but that hurt less than the bollock incident. :(
