Ibis Bastille
Anton Trinite (round the back of rue Hausmann)

If you're looking for a really nice hotel it will cost a fortune.

The Mercure hotels are fairly reasonable and have a range of star ratings/prices.

If you can afford £120 a night B+B try this, mate stayed there and said it was amazing, btw he got it for £72 a night on arc weekend so maybe if you can wait to book you'll get it cheaper.

I always stay in this hotel when I go to Paris. It's just next to the Champs Elysees. 4 stars and worth every penny imo.

I've stayed here a few times over the years, close to the immortal Eiffel Tower. It was perfectly satisfactory on all those occasions.

Maybe something like Trip Advisor website will have up to date info on it?

Hotel du Rond Point de Longchamp
Address: 86 Rue de Longchamp - Paris - 75116

good luck - it's a great city

Paris is a great city. I wouldn't stay in the North part near Gard du Nord, It's a bit of a run down area around there.

Sight-seeing tip..

By the Eiffel Tower you can buy tickets for a red tour bus. Think its called les cartes rouges, we got a two day ticket for 25euros each. (that was 3 years ago, not sure of the cost now). It goes around all the Paris sights, such as Notre Dame and The Louvre. The best bit about it was that you can jump on and off as many times as you like, they run all day. Made it a really cheap way to see all of the city.

Have a good time.

It's a wonderful city. Mind you, much of the visual stuff is thanks to slaughtering the Communards in 1871. Or thereabouts. London has to thank the German airforce. Germans involved both times, I suppose.
