but ihave a feeling the panel will need replacing most expensive part i think :-( what make and how much you pay? if you got it from john lewis you would have a 5 year warranty |

i know it dont help but in future get it from John lewis, prices are no more dearer then else where and you get a free 5 year warranty thrown in!!!!!!!!!!!!

Under the sales of goods act, TVs are expected to last at least 5 years.
Quote this to the manufacturer and say you want them to repair or replace / credit towards a new tv. You may have a bit of a fight, but a letter to head office / complaints dept will get it sorted. |

In older CRT TVs this problem was caused by capacitors in the power supply "dryingout" and the answer was to change them,don't know about these LCD TVs but it needs an engineer so will be costly.
