Noticed that property in Florida seems dirt cheap.Whats the reason for this? Would have thought Florida would be a lovely place to live.

Northern Cyprus is cheap because although you can buy it you probably dont own it.
Ask your local Greek chip shop owner for more details.

foreigners cant buy property in Thailand easily - needs to done via a business aquisition i think - and then only on a lease - but rules change constantly. You could always put it in the name of a friendly local pretty girl, who im sure would do the honorable thing by you.

You wouldn't get much in oz for 70k. Bit of a dump way out in the country.

Thailand you need to buy in a local's name. That can be a problem. Cambodia is cheap but do you want to live there? I suppose it's better than Africa.

Report The_KAMIKAZEE_DRINKING_MACHINE November 26, 2016 12:51 PM GMT
It's not a good idea imo. Rent is cheap anyway. 70k you could rent for decades in Thailand.

Bulgaria has already been mentioned but the houses are crude and dark and dingy from what I've seen.

Ireland should be your first port of call, as there are "ghost estates" of very fine looking properties there.
Well at least there were a year or two but haven't checked how things are now.....

Check out the adverts in Zimbabwe Farmer magazine. Plenty of rural houses with land for less than 50k sterlings. You'd have to keep the local soldiers happy by slaughtering and roasting a hog and hosting a pulled-pork feast for them every 6 months.
And if the next president is a sensible person the value should rise.

Saw a council in the north offering houses for £1 but you'd have to spend a bit to do them up.
