I always think it is funny when you speak to europeans and they've all heard of the beatles, the stones, Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Monty Python, James Bond even Benny Hill ffs. And yet all I know in return is kraftwerk and Proust. The french are absolutely seething that their language got shafted. |
