I am obviously too refined for the mass of common oiks who inhabit this forum.

Take my advice and remove it from your vocabulary. It shows you up and the 'birds' who don't mind being referred to by it are all rough old tramps who drink pints of mild.

This coming from a person who thought it appropriate and inoffensive to call people "mugs".

I, vividly, recall you stating that this word was acceptable, at which point you lost all credibility. While never on the receiving end, personally, I could not believe that someone of supposed intelligence could not realise the offensiveness of that term.

I stopped calling Young Ladies "birds" around 25 years ago.

Why not throw the history of our British slang in the bin and go back to the caveman days and start over. I suggest we use UG! for women & UG! UG! for men.

Political correctness will turn us all into mindless cardboard cutouts or worse, people afraid to speak at all incase we somehow upset someone.

According to the online slang dictionary, the term "Bird" when used to mean a female, is only 17% vulgar.

A pleasing thread, seeking to both educate and restore a sense of decorum to the forum.

Referring to women as birds is naff - please use women or girls in the future. And if you are on the "settee humping my bird's clunge in the lounge", then you have committed four solecisms*. Try on the "sofa pleasuring my woman in the living room". If you really must be anatomically specific, try referring to her "clunge" as her *****or more pleasing still, her lulu. If you need to wipe up after committing such a deed, then a napkin is used, never a serviette.

*A solecism in this context is a violation of language

Use a napkin? Nonsense, everyone knows one zuffles one's wang on the curtains after a hump. It's the law.

Well it's not really but it darn well should be.
