LA Confidential 4.5/5 brilliant multi-layered film set in 1950's about police corruption/hollywood sleaze
|
|
By:
In Bruges 4/5 Very funny dark comedy about hitmen going through crisis of confidence
|
|
By:

|
By:
The Gift is with Keanu Reeves/Katie Holmes, okish chiller, only really memorable for seeing Katie Holmes breasts 2/5

defiance - very cliched and predictable

Speilberg's 'Munich'. Very violent, but complex moral arguments about the justification of revenge. Fantastic camerawork and design as well. Old school ensemble acting.
Steve McQueen's 'Hunger' is the most amazing thing I've seen for years. But this is an art film with a capital A. Slow, quiet, lingering camera, then fast incredible brutality. It is jaw dropping, but 90% of people will hate it. |

HW - I suppose what age-group you're in would determine what you'd like.
I'm stuck in the 70s and you can't go far wrong tuning into one of these classics...though you've probably seen them: Day Of The Jack (the original...not that rag-ársed remake) Marathon Man Dirty Harry Three Days Of The Condor |

One of my favourite films is 'True Romance' 1993.
Directed by Tony Scott Written by Quentin Tarantino Stars (ridiculous) Christian Slater Patricia Arquette Dennis Hopper Val Kilmer Gary Oldman Brad Pitt (debut as a stoner) Christopher Walken Samuel L. Jackson James Gandolfini In Detroit, a lonely pop culture geek marries a call girl, steals cocaine from her pimp, and tries to sell it in Hollywood. Meanwhile, the owners of the cocaine, the Mob, track them down in an attempt to reclaim it. If you haven't watched it before, it's well worth a gander. |

By:
