One of the problems at the moment is that a lot of people have been made redundant and have had the same idea.
To make it pay you need to get the work in. |
|
By:
Yeah would ideally buy an established outfit and try and develop.
Dont think the costs would be quite as high as suggested but would be happy with £400 a week tho dont want a get rich quick scheme. I was also thinking of trying to trade a few estates to drivers too as I currently work in car sales and would guess I know more than your average person about this. Not sure how viable this would be?? |

The taxis that are ranked up at the airports have to pay the airport authorities for the priviledge.

Been told all I have to do is apply take a test £200 and then get my vehicle pit tested. Pretty sure you need license for carrying more passengers.
So insurance will be higher than usual. Cost of car and fuel would cost no more than £60 a day will be able to do about 500 miles on that much. round trip give or take is 125 miles. And presumably you can right some of the fuel and cost of car and maintainance off against my tax bill ??? |
|
By:
P.s would be bookings only so no hanging around bar delays etc. And I quite enjoy reading and as said could always go to the auctions 15 mile away to see if I could pick up any bargins to trade to the other drivers.

chip shops do very well, obviously, the well run ones
and I don't mean Harry Ramsdens either, I mean well run independent ones |
|
By:
Cheers punter.
Chip shop eyyyyyyy ;\ |

By:
find a town population of say 6,000 thats without a chip shop, open one up there and you'd be very rich soon
obviously it takes dedication, do you have any of that? |
|
By:
I'm very committed to a cause when it matters. It's just starting the cause that's my hurdle! I'm usually a pessimistic person.
|
|
By:
well I dunno how much money you have
but here's a tip, if you open a chippy in a small town and sponsor the local football team...........KER-CHING! always works |
|
By:
Got less than a grand to muck about with, so it's a non-starter. For a long time I'd say. :D
Thanks tho punter. I don't doubt that's great advice. |
|
By:
well food establishments often do very well, can you cook?
if so, cook in your own kitchen, advertise your number and hire a delivery driver and start from there! til you have saved the money! don't do it for too long or else you'll get caught :0) |
|
By:

try getting airport runs that fit in 8.30, 11.30, 14.30, 17.30, 20.30!
more like 8.30 so pass the 10 oclock one on, delayed coming out, held up on the m25, getting stressed as might not make the 13.00, Very competitive pricing as someone will always do it cheaper! Also not to much Airport work about this time of the year, ok in the summer. |
