Why do they have lollipop ladies at green man crossings? Surely the kids are smart enough only to cross when the green man is flashing? A waste of council tax, imo.
Report everythings gone green • November 7, 2009 4:46 PM GMT
When the green man is flashing you should NOT start to cross.

Didn't they teach you anything at school?

a lollypop man in edinburgh recently got forced out of his job because he gave children sweets and the odd high five.

health and safety risk. while he was giving the high five, he might not have noticed an oncoming car and the sweets may have been harmful to a child with a peanut allergy.

My old lollypop man is friends with Chuck Norris.

My lollipop lady was working til the end but died a couple of years ago, there is a plaque on the fence near the crossing. Would always give a wave as mum drove past on the way to high school.

Our LollIpop lady had a fling with the Headmaster, he left his wife (our PE Teacher), and then she left him for the school caretaker,
Mr Gurn, he's wife had a fight with her at the school crossing, The Headmaster ended up in a mental home,i think  it was in the local rag if i remember rightly,

The lollipop woman at our school was killed when a car knocked her down.
Id say she died doing what she loved but I doubt it and besides I cant be arsed.

The dinnerlady at our school went to a professional Ice Hockey game and got hit in the face with the puck that was struck at goal and just kept on rising.

I dont think I have laughed as much since.
