If you have one of these, or I imagine any Santander on-line account, you may have noticed that they are encouraging you to download their free firewall. Has anyone done this? Does it effect your pc performance?

Saw this yesterday. Was gonna wait for some feedback from the media before I downloaded it.

Does it conflict with zone alarm or other firewalls?

Does it only affect your connection with A&L or is it all banks? All websites?

What if you don't download it. Would you be treated any differently to someone who had if you are both victims of fraud?

etc.

Would someone kindly open an Alliance and Leicester on-line account, download the free firewall, and report back please? Thank you.

I have a Spanish account (La Caixa) which I use for my bills for my place in Spain. They also had a "free" firewall which nearly totally **ed my PC. DONT TOUCH

Thanks for that. Is La Caixia part of Santander?

In my experience its never wise to run two simultaneous firewalls, conflicts often happen,if you are only using the basic windows one (which usually turns off when a new one is iinstalled)by all means it could be ok,I personally wouldn't run Zone Alarm etc and another firewall on the same computer

La Caixa is NOT part of Santander. Next.
