these people are the lowest common denominator. total ripoff **pigs.
the 'inventory' scam, where both the old tennant and new tennant have to pay, the mythical damages, which they deduct from the deposit, meaning most leaving tennants hardly ever get their deposit back in 1 bit.
they charge the owner a ridiculous %age for doing feck all, and if the owner gets knocked by the tennant, the agent washes his hands of the whole thing.
a bloke i knew, total slimeball, proper sleazebag, the sort of bloke who, after u shake hands with u make sure yr watch is still there, runs a very successful letting agency.

and they managed to add an admin deposiit of 150 after we'd put the advanced depsoit down, which was never mentioned before
apparently it's to cover them if you miss a rent payment or something and they actually have to do some work!

which is a problem if you want to secure the place straight away as the office closes at 530 and you need to come back next day
but the ridiculous thing was that the property was basically in the same road as the office (one road leading into another) and she got lost.
then the other woman today couldn't work out that 8 days earlier meant 8 and not 9 days extra payment, and how to add up a few numbers on a calculator which i also had to point out.
well find people homes is rewarding no?they just all seem to be numptiesour viewing was for 5pm and she arrived after 515which is a problem if you want to secure the place straight away as the office closes at 530 and you need to come back next daybu
and they explain their rip offs as if they're perfectly normal and express shock that you're even questioning it.l or try to make simple explanations sound complicated and finish with 'do you understand that?' a retarded chipmunk could understand.

There is a simple response to this (over the phone).
"If you continue to raise your voice/use that language, I will terminate the call." "You'd better be **íng quick, then."

my mate was moving from 1 rental gaff to another and there was gonna be an overlap, so he needed an extra deposit, until he got the original one back from the agent. so i lent him the money, until he got his dep back.
they fobbed my pal off with so many outrageous excuses, it was emabarrassing. 3 weeks after he had moved in to his new place, he still hadnt received his deposit. they then said, that due to damages, there was no deposit due. of course a new punter had moved in by this time, so we could not check on the alledged damages.
so we went down to see the man and one of his workers said 'hes not here and he does this all the time, mate. im sick of it. heres his personal mobile number - hastle him'. so we did and after 2 quite heated fone calls, we went back that afternoon and got all of the deposit back.

big house shares are pretty horrific anyway, but only been 3 of us the last year, but one of them suddenly decided to move to new zealand so getting a 2 bedroom place.

once when we were looking for a place to rent in-betwen selling and buying - this agent asked for £225 admin. I asked for a detailed statement what that actually covers, and she said, "Oh sorry we can't do that." (Computer says 'NO'type of thing !). I said I just wanted to know what I was paying for, £225 admin what the wtf was that for, what are they doing ! We soon came away, total rip-off merchant !!

yeah i asked what i was paying for with the admin deposit, then asked who got away without paying (on the form it says if applicable which applies not usuaal imo). and it was just those who were recommended to a landlord or some ******* like that. where they didn't manage anything

my youngest was renting a house with 3 mates last year when she was at uni & they tried the no deposit back routine.the irony was that they actually left the place in better nick than they found it.after a very heated phone conversation I told them I was going to pay a visit with a mate(a gentle giant but looks like Tyson fury).i got the deposit back plus travel expenses for the 200 mile odd round trip, the bloke was ****ing himself
