I am only 31yo. i grew up in pubs, proper old style pubs, country pubs mainly. In my naivety I honestly thought they'd always be the same, on the contrary. They are universally sh.t now. Bistro pub w.ank holes full of w.ankers.

luckily enough i live in a village with 2 pubs, and both of them are as close as you get these days to proper pubs. one of them doesn't even have a fkin bar, the beer is served out of the cellar. it will never change, and the brewerey will never sell it. but i'd buy it tomorrow if i had money and they'd sell it. just 2 sticking points unfortunately.

They've slowly realized they can make more money selling food than drink so 9/10 pubs have gone down the gastro route. A lot of bars you are treated as a second class citizen ordering just a drink and are given about 1/10th of the establishment to drink in.
