Two militants hiding out in a cave have been killed by a bear. The men were armed with AK-46 rifles but were taken by surprise as the enraged bear returned to its den. Police even found the remains of food they had prepared before the animal pounced. Two other men escaped after the attack near Srinagar in Indian-administered Kashmir. But one was badly hurt. It is thought to be the first such incident since Muslim separatists took up arms against Indian rule in 1989. Cop Farooq Ahmed said: "The militants had made their hideout in a cave which was actually the bear's den." |
