Seems like the only idiot on here is the one who stands to lose a packet because he won't speak to Johnny F.

Yer man please read kens post again, what he actually meant to say was, have you tried TO speak to the NON-British representative,
provided?
but surely I want to speak to a British person, NOT A NON BRITISH person.
Now tell me he was fair.
If I had mis-read it then I would be a fool.

Why do you care what nationality the person is as long as they give you your money back?

I'd rather have £20 back from an Indian call centre worker than nothing back from an English one.

Because those jobs should be in Britain not the ASIAN continent.
T hese call center employees are used to keep the profits rolling into
Branson's pocket, as if he needs more money, greedy illegitimate.

I had the same issue a few years ago; I took in a lodger and gave him his own broadband on a seperate account and after it was closed it left a credit. No matter how many times I tried I still could not get the refund even though I was promised countless times that it was in the post.

As luck would have it, I still had my main account and they 'instantly' transferred the credit over but to get a refund was impossible. Good luck with it because I couldn't find another way.

For other Virgin Media customers reading this, my advice would be to cancel the direct debit if you are thinking of moving or changing supplier and then let them send you the final bill; don't leave them with a credit balance!

Well, good luck with your quest anyway.

I spoke to someone by the name of ALIL, who listened to my explanation and then she told me that the system was down at the moment, for about 2 to 4 hours, why didn't she tell me that BEFORE i made my explanation?

I have a feeling there are more deep rooted issues than a mere refund of monies owed, bubbling under the surface here.

Everythings, you are right because virgins claim that they give a mother of all broadbands, using a film star to advertise and I change to a new computer because their signal is crap, so the advert is a load of lies, which cost me money, I now have a no longer used computer in my bedroom, which has crashed, so I do NOT expect honesty.

We had problems with our internet and cable box. But not Virgins fault at first - there was a power cut, then when EDF fixed it, they cut cables underground or something.
But then getting someone on other end of Virgin to send someone soon, or to understand that it wasn't a problem with my computer or the cable box, was difficult. All he could say was "Very sorry Mr Brockman. Technician 29 October".

So frustrating. Took a while to get resolved, but otherwise, better value deal than Sky, and internet is faster.

Kent, Sky's must be shocking, but most of these big companies seem to have a leader with a criminal mind rather than give us a fair and honest crack, money seems to be their whole reason to be living, no pride involved at all, witness MURDOCH, BRANSTON and our wonderful politicians who rip us off at every turn.

Err, i think the motivation for cutting costs with overseas call centres is that the British public have regularly proven they will go with the cheapest option.

On your original point, my girlfriend had a query with them last week which she knew would be protracted, so decided she didnt want to go down the struggling-to-understand-each-other route. Not sure whether she requested to speak to someone in this country or waited until 7pm-ish, but she did speak to someone in this country.

Duncan, do you mean that the call center is by passed after 7pm?
By:
bazzar
When: 05 Nov 09 14:08
Duncan, I don't thonk the British PUBLIC have anything to do with whether a foreign call center is used, British business men who are greedy, does, however.
