Troops home, gallows for Brown/blair, hth.
By:
support for the troops in afghanistan is still over 50%. Brown inherited this sh1t and there is no way out
By:
50% my b0ll0x, where u get that figure from, let the backward feckers kill each other.

Give the Taliban ASBOs and pull the troops out, problem solved imo.
By:
I'm just wondering if anyone quizzed him on it. The BBC report reads as if he just said that the Taliban had taken responsibility for it and everyone accepted that as fact.

By:
Inside a base and he escaped? How?

By:
RIP All Heroes in my eyes.
By:
No, at a check-point, and by running away I imagine.
By:
*Inside a base and he escaped? How?
He ******** shot everyone |
By:
how did he shoot so quickly and no one managed for shoot him?
By:
Well we don't know!! Maybe a couple were having a snooze. Bit unfair to speculate on the ability recently murdered servicemen to defend themselves!
By:
Didnt mean to speak ill of the dead, just something doesnt seem right as im certain all 5 would of had a pistol.
By:
it's quite simple... pull all the troops out .... then drop an atomic bomb on the whole lot of them
By:
Fair enough kf, the details are scarce. I can see how it would be difficult for one man to kill four armed men standing facing him at a checkpoint, so I doubt those are the circumstances.

kingfisher 23 - you watch too much TV

Right, no more serious threads for me tonight, it's football time!

My brother has served in the army for 8 years.
By:
Well, he probably just stood behind them and opened up. Simple. They'd have been riddled before they knew what was happening.

By:
also very inaccurate
By:
So, a 5 second burst would be 50 bullets.
By:
kingfisher 23 - I dont want to get in an argument about it, but its pretty understandable how he could get away with it.
A dozen squaddies sitting around scratching their rses getting shot at by a "friendly" wouldn't have known what hit them. |
By:
fair one.

So, a 5 second burst would be 50 bullets wont fire that many because you could not load 2 full mags on in that time |
By:
Of course it does beg the question should they have all been sitting around. I dont trust them and wouldn't. Id always have a couple of blokes "locked and loaded"
By:
Who said they were sitting around?

Did you read the report referenced above?
The British soldiers had laid down weapons and removed their helmets and body armour as proof of their trust in their hosts, local officials in the village of Shin Kalay, Nad-e'Ali district. The gunman - named only as Gulbuddin - had climbed on to a roof before peppering the courtyard of the compound below with bullets |
By:
I didnt read that no.
By:
rip
By:
you can never trust them people, i say get the troops out and let them fight and kill each other like they have done for years, they know nothing else
By:
GET THEM OUT!! 300 countries in the world, its not our problem. Close our borders and let them drown in their own filth.
By:
My brother-in-law will be one of the guys carrying one of the coffins. He was due to replace one of the guys killed, next week. His best mate. This is just too much. When will karma slide a razor up Blairs rectum ? Hope it is very very soon.
By:
Sorry to hear that, spassky. I think all you and your brother-in-law can say is, "There but for the grace of God go I"...

I'm not going to say what soldiers should have done, but if that was me, in a war zone, I wouldn't trust anybody further than I could spit. |
