Friday is an interesting card and great improvement on past years. Impossible conditional jockeys race starts proceedings which is followed by an intriguing 4 runner chase. I’m not sure Springwell deserves to be fav at 7/4 even though he won well enough at Chepstow beating Insurrection and Boombawn (winner Saturday). His Cheltenham form isn’t quite the same level as two others I prefer in the race with the first being Hyland..his Pertemps qual win and course and distance win last meeting was better form, although it can be argued the favs didn’t perform that day. The one I like at 5/1 is Buddy One. I think his best form is far superior to anything else in the field and his last run could be looking back in the future an impossible task with Corbett cross and Heart wood both winning grade 1’s in the next few weeks. Buddy also gets 3lb from Hyland and 5lb from Springwell. The other horse is Resplendent Grey who is improving but would need to better his last performance by an stone.
Therefore at 5/1 Buddy is good value against this lot in my opinion.

Jonbon is a watching brief as wouldn’t be surprised if Edwardstone was super fit to try and nick this prize. All being equal Jonbon wins impressively but sometimes just watching these top horses go toe to toe provides the greatest spectacle.

We then have an interesting cross country with the old lummox (as segal says) Conflated giving loads of weight to 8 other horses. I’ve already backed the old dodge pot Mister Coffey at 5/1 EW as this is the sort of race that can finally get him home in front. He’s lazy, temperamental but has a touch of class and Conflated might struggle to concede that much weight if the fences and rails wake him up.

The Grade 2 novice looks a match on paper. Valgrand was very impressive last meeting but there is a huge buzz around Potters Charm. Not sure I’ll back him at evens so will probably watch for the future.

In the final race I’ve backed Letterston Lily who ran a strange race ove 2mile 4furlongs last meeting. I think Sean Bowen thought the field was going a stride too quickly and would come back in the straight. Over 2 miles he’ll need to be much closer to the pace but at 10/1 5 places I think he’s a bit under the radar. Definitely worth watching a rerun of that race.

Anyone any thoughts on the Friday card ?

Very much doubt it.

Jonbon, Sweet David, Potters Charm, East India Dock, L’Eau du Sud, Doyen Quest, Burdett Road and Fortune DeMer all impressive and can all feature.

Some very impressive performances. Cheltenham also pulled out all the stops to make great 3 days in enclosures.

Slade steel and the yellow clay will probably yield more than the lot you mentioned

Imagine Bob olinger ran at the Navan meeting who would of thought that meeting would have yielded more winners and yellow clay didn't run 2 bad well done with your winner of the ballymore
