Hi all as per my thread last year - i am a novice here. But I like the idea and have followed the concept of a ‘plunge’ as a fun trixie or a yankee each way for small amounts. My suggestion is Gidleigh Park. Any thoughts or interest?

I'm going to suggest Comfort Zone as a possible plunge horse. Might turn out to be very generously handicapped indeed.

Johnnywho in the Albert Bartlett at 16/1. Stamina and strong pace should bring out improvement. I reckon it's been plotted for this.

As we wonder why there is so little forum traffic these days Deptford hits the nail on the head with a potty mouth rant saying nothing constructive what so ever. The point I was making is that because he has been campaigned over a shorter trip this may mean more than normal improvement could be expected. Given that Johnnywho is owned by someone who likes a touch more than most I am speculating that he may be a plunge horse which is the point of this thread to share views. I do not expect everyone to agree nor am I saying that other horses are not prepared for the meeting. As we well know, however, there are some trainers and owners who place a higher priority on festival winners than picking prize money up elsewhere. Also I am not aware that sharing a view on this thread was in itself branding myself an 'expert' or indeed evidence of my being a k****.

Racing media tend to write for their paymasters. Here, posters doing it for a bit of fun, and mickey-taking eg 'acey'.

OK Deptford - no problem and no offence taken. I understand. Yes there is an overflow of media previews these days. Fingers crossed one of us picks a winner!

I used to watch the podcasts by guests (paid tipsters/trainers/jockeys) or get-to-gathers before a selected/paid audience but their opinions were so varied that sometimes every runner was selected in the race. As such, what would be the point? Sometimes misinformed/intimated an incorrect race target.

Any such drivel on the Flat? Absolutely not!

That's because the flat isn't interesting enough to talk about, Impossible.
