Most important week of the year
It all starts at Galway ....and no one postson the Chelters forum |

Bit late in the day to put a Queen Mother Prospect over fences Irish ? Why would they wait so long ?
Surely given a spin over a few Fences at home in the past |

Lively performance today , won easy but didnt beat much, Tipperary, easy flatish galloping track got the two and a half, opens up the cheltenham options, one tiny error, got in a bit close, gained lengths at most of the other fences, this puts him in the ryanair distance wise, but the going needs to be good side of soft at least, which means he is unlikely to be pauls choice over energumine on a wet week for the q m . The other thing of course is age, ten years old and still a novice ? Arkle as well ? another Willie puzzle already ?
By:
Can't see it being the QM with Energumene and El Fabiolo around. The JLT often has a small field - maybe he'll end up there. But he's got such a good record around 2 m on the Old Course, the Arkle has to be a possibility. As you say, he needs goodish ground, so could also be one Willie targets more towards Punchestown. Willie will decide on March 10th!

willie wouldnt put sharjah in the turners
loves him too much still the good ground option for the queen mother |
By:
Willie puts his horses in the race he thinks they have the best chance of winning.

Willie...... "Sharjah will stay novice chasing and we're looking at the Drinmore and the Craddockstown. We'll see where we go but he could go two or two and a half miles. He's taken to chasing really well and it's been a nice surprise, so there might be some nice prizes to be won with him this season."
Early December Fairyhouse — Drinmore Novice Chase (Grade 1) (Class 1) Distance: 2m 3f 165y Mid /end November Punchestown - Craddockstown Novice Chase (Grade 2) (Class 1) · 2m 180y · |

That quote was from his Sporting Life column,I believe.
3 days later at his media open day he said, he was 50/50 to run him in the Drinmore or give him a winters break. |

Sharjah (FR)
entered at Fairyhouse on Sunday 3rd Dec 2.00 2m. 4f. Novice Chase 4-y-o plus 18 Entered Bar One Racing Drinmore Novice Steeplechase (Grade 1) of €85,000.00 |

it seems willie has few worries about Sharjahs stamina
Hes entered him in a two and a half mile at Limerick Xmas Limerick at Christmas is a bog |
By:
Still in the Drinmore (Sunday).
By:
interestingly good bit of dry weather due friday/saturday which would make ground perfect for Sharjah over 2 and a half
Willie might pull him out if rain Sunday gets in the ground and goes past Good to Soft , the ground is crucial only horse that has beat him over two and a half is Constitution Hill and he kept on that day Willie thinks he has the stamina in him , thats the big question |
By:
only one of Doctor Dinos offspring to win over 20f = Sharjah
State Man hasn't gone further than 2m either |
By:
Ground soft on the heavy side at fairyhouse today
By:
What did you make of the race/run Irishone?
By:
That was a very tired horse at the last, obviously two miles on good or g to s is what he wants
I think Willie might regret running him rather than the winter break now ....the horse is as ground reliant as Energumene Paul must be gutted seeing the stable mate relish the ground and the distance |
By:
After today only in your dream. He was beaten fairly and squarely. He was not good enough.
By:
I think this horse huge price
For turners Fantastic form running over 2mile Wants 2m4f 50/1 ew crazy price |
By:
I imagine he'll have an entry in the Grand Annual and the Plate.
By:
probably better winning chance , my thinking was
ew part possibly top 4 bet in that big race on Thursday Rather than Handicap but defo can see it now more I think |
By:
My mate mozzy he have go up against
Pretty close match imo if it’s the annual route |
By:
The lesser spotted Ferny Hollow makes his latest come back on Sunday. I'm hoping he can add a little more excitement to the Champion Chase, though it's probably asking a bit much.
By:
Would be very un-Mullins like to run him again so quickly at Cheltenham, Stront
