The Handicaps kick off with this annual Conumdrum.

37 left in at present, maximum field size 24.

Doubts surrounding the ground and weather forecast another factor to consider.

The Irish domination of staying chases in general, seems to bypass this race,Intriguing on its own.

The Posh one holds the weight card, she has 5 entered, always a stable to keep on side around here, especially if we get deeper ground.

Is there a better handicapped horse than Fantastikas at the entire meeting?

Not disgraced in 7th last year,12lb lower this time around,10-05lb currently looks mighty dangerous.

Pipe introduces a dark one from France, for the same owners as Un Temps, another to ponder.

The stats point to a horse with previous around here, not yet fully exposed, but with experience, those moving up the ranks hold sway in recent runnings.

Headgear wearers used to have a terrible record back in the day,not in this race in recent renewals.

48 hrs will shed a little light, shaping up nicely this far out.

Getting just one of these right can make the week.

Another interesting factor in this race is the Grand National. Many hold dual entries, including several at the head of the betting - which are using this as a prep race, and which will be fully geared up for this?

Good point Strontium ... Is Corach going down the Noble Y route.

I can think of another that took this route, although he did have to wait another year before winning at Aintree, who was he?

Coral Cup winner first ..... Wink

Be day of the race this end, ground will be key for plenty of them.
