When the war started and we all saw the horrors and the refugee crisis ensued we saw the clamour from many people willing to take refugees fleeing the country.

A lot of well meaning people no doubt, but also I would imagine from a lot of virtue signallers jumping on the latest bandwagon without much thought.

As the war now begins it's next phase in our psyche and we become used to it and it takes a back step in the news slots and becomes more of a normal part of our everyday life I wonder in a few months or so and for lack of a better term, the novelty wears off just how many households with refugees find that it hasn't "worked out" and we start to see stories where many refugees are looking for a new home once again.

Have a vacant holiday let but as we are in a rural village with almost no public transport I doubt that we would be suitable. We are limited to 30 day occupancy as well which would complicate things.

Its handling the guilt is the problem
Thought about a good bet at cheltenham
For next year
Then thought feck it , would prefer to help someone out
Sometimes we dont realise how priviledged we are

I would say that it is red tape that is the problem. Look at the hundreds of thousands of static caravans around the coast that are empty for 6 months each year. Their planning consent prevents them from being occupied for a whole year.

jilted mother-of-three whose partner ran off with a Ukrainian refugee has shared her anger after she let the woman into her home.

Lorna Garnett says she was left heartbroken after her partner of ten years decided to leave her for Sofiia Karkadym just ten days after she moved into their hours after fleeing war-torn Ukraine.

Tony Garnett, 29, a security guard, who lives in Bradford, West Yorkshire, said he has fallen in love with the 22-year-old and wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
