i find the camaraderie amongst the punters pretty funny at cheltenham. Its a good wind up, a good bit of banter, meeting old horsey friends, having a laugh and watching a few decent horses.
Yes we pay well for it and at times its uncomfortable.
Yes its got worse over the years but you have to expect that in an overcrowded country.
...but you meet some very good people and it upholds the sporting but dying tradition of horse racing and its a pity my grandchildren won't have experienced what I have......i hope it survives snowflaking
So do I but with soppy Ed Chamberlin around to continually bolster the wet campaign I have grave doubts. Which brings me to one of the good things about Cheltenham from my, admittedly, armchair point of view. The video recorder or equivalent. Watch the races on here then view the recording of the whole show later. That way you can fast-pass all the inevitable bilge, childish c rap and social media rubbish which continues to spoil race viewing and focus on the punditry your actually interested in. Apart from "Home Schooling" which is the best feature of the show outside the actual racing.

Other than the Gold Cup and Grand National I watch all the racing recorded in the evening. If I was to watch the afternoon racing I would start an hour after the first race , and miss all the adverts , bluster from the experts ridiculing any view from non jockeys and the cr@p about Ireland v UK(no one gives a f@ck)
