Not a race I normally get involved in till a few months before the festival but breaking that due to being stuck inside at the moment. It’s very competitive at first glance with no reason this years field won’t be all back for a rematch and then you add in the Novices. There doesn’t seem to be much between the established horses so I’m looking for something that might improve significantly ne t season to challenge the principles.
The one I’m going for is Angels Breath. I know Nicky really rates this horse and everything he did as a hurdler was a bonus. I just watched back the way he easily won his two races at Ascot (including prolific First Flow). He will need to show he acts at Cheltenham as the supreme wasn’t that inspiring but at 25/1 he’s worth a small bet at this stage.
Fishing again ? The horse dont rate Hasnt done anything of any note over fences yet And unless poison nicky gets him to win a race valued over 100k I wouldn't award him a place in the Ryanair Just as I never believed the hype associated with him as favourite for the Supreme last year Stunning bait hibore, you bet it at 25\1 ? You will probably get that if it turns up on the day ?????

I'd like to nominate Samcro as he seemed to like the trip and course. His jumping apart from the 2nd last was very good in the JLT. Also, each time I backed him at the Festival he won; 12/1 is an ok price too.
I just hope he's looked after, and sound for 2021. He comes across a bit fragile.

Nice to get back to some sensible debate after the ramblings of the alcoholic one.
Samcro has a major chance if getting to the race. If I didn’t go for Angels then Samcro would be high on my list.

There could easily be some of the novices in it next year but I thought that Saint Calvados ran well and is still only seven. The same connections have Simply The Betts who is also 7 but needs to improve 15lb.

Foxy, I agree SC could have won if jumping a few fences cleaner. He’s pretty exposed as you point out which leads me to look at the novices coming through. Could be an exciting year.

Agreed with Saint Calvados, I thought he should have won, the real noticeable thing about him though is it is apparent just how well he is now settling whilst in behind through his races, he travelled and jumped like an absolute dream through most of the race, Sheehan was indecisive after the 2nd last, he had the horse and could have got though on townends inner but dithered, he then fluffed the last and messed it up.

The damage had already been done really I think, the jockey needed to go for the lot to get up Mins inner after the 2nd last but didn't, he half looked to go outside for a brief moment between min and apt but the room wasn't there, then just before the last Min just edged across and it looked like SC might have been slightly intimidated which maybe contributed to the flat footed effort at the last.
Turning in and approaching the 2nd last the jockey was just sitting hoping for the gap to appear rather than engineering something I thought.
