Taunton was a quagmire
Report sageform March 10, 2020 12:27 PM GMT
For me today it is Fiddler, Notebook and Maire Banrigh, Vinndication, no bet, no bet, Imperial Aura and Lamanver Pippin place only.
Report sageform March 10, 2020 7:31 PM GMT
As is often the case, I had to endure 4 losing races before getting a win but ended up a pound ahead! Lamanver ended up at 12 a place but unfortunately I took much less than that.
Report buddeliea March 11, 2020 8:07 AM GMT
Got the first two, went pear shaped after that!!
Report sageform March 11, 2020 12:37 PM GMT
Not a bad start if you backed the Arkle winner!
Report foxy March 11, 2020 6:30 PM GMT

Dont think i have heard so much krap as i heard last night in the hotel bar.it seems the internet and forums such as this have blessed the weak unintelligent masses with the confidence to jump on an imaginery soapbox and spout total bull about any subject such as geraghtys tactics, willies training faults or liverpools back line , all of which lead me to suspect orwells animal farm is alive and well living in this rat infested excuse of a country which is well past its sell date
Report FOYLESWAR March 12, 2020 5:34 AM GMT
looks like just you and i on here atm irish ,hows your luck?
Report buddeliea March 12, 2020 6:55 AM GMT
Sounds like your hotel bar was full of idiots drinking too much Irish.
Hope you are not doing that, need a clear head when punting!!
Report irishone March 12, 2020 8:25 AM GMT
Abracadabras would have paid for the week, ptko got me back in the game, (as said on here) honeysuckle is the best hurdler in ireland (as said on here) got me in front , coddy in the last (5th in the plate as said on here, got me 4 ton up on the day) yesterday henderson cost me fortunes looking to castrate geraghty but we got willies "i dont really know which one" (as said on here) in the last to get us back level on the day....great days great meeting but the level of excrenent in british racing and footvall knowledge is drowning me out.
Report Deptford March 12, 2020 9:07 AM GMT
Could have been worse, you could have had woody staying in room next door.
Report sageform March 13, 2020 12:36 PM GMT
Still hanging on with small losses. Yesterday was a whitewash until the last which brought be almost level again. The Tizzard failures have been by far the biggest problem for me. I had backed at least 6 of his ante post and they have all run really badly. I am already on Lostintranslation so I hope he might be the exception. I am not yet on Eldorado Allen or Harry Senior and will wait until close to the of before making a decision on them. I am also on Thyme Hill ante post but Hobbs is worse than Tizzard so probably another write off. My only ante post win so far was a lay of Tiger Roll. I don't bet many from Ireland which is becoming a very bad policy at the festival although they have so many runners that a level stakes on them all could be a loss.
Report irishone March 13, 2020 1:12 PM GMT
Yes it is a loss, you have to know the tracks thet they go on, a galway stayer is not a fairyhouse horse, and the gallopers dont do well at cheltenham
Report sageform March 13, 2020 2:17 PM GMT
I hope that the handicappers are feeling ashamed! Put another 5lb on every Irish trained horse and they would still win all of the handicaps.
Report cricketnut2 March 13, 2020 6:35 PM GMT
I managed to win, but not that much and was let down in the last as I had Coloumn of Fire in the last leg of a Super Heinz bet that included 2 winners and 3 other placed horses and the said horse would surely have won, as he would of outstayed the leader quite comfortably.
Report cricketnut2 March 13, 2020 6:36 PM GMT
Still only 52 weeks and 4 days to next Cheltenham Festival.

Report foxy March 13, 2020 8:04 PM GMT
I was also on cricketnut and have no doubt he would have stayed on to win
Report FOYLESWAR March 13, 2020 9:16 PM GMT
plenty of losers obviously but 2 big priced ante post winners in epatante and politiloge kept me nicely in front ,one lesson i must learn is when i back a selection ante post at big odds early doors is to keep topping up after seemingly disapointing prep runs  when they drift . big odds only require a few quid here and there and it can make a massive difference if everything pans out come raceday. of cours you will have a fair few nonners and losers but thats the risk.
Report irishone March 13, 2020 9:23 PM GMT
Plus the ground on the day, the meeting being off cos of a virus and the bha moving the goalposts
Report impossible123 March 13, 2020 11:50 PM GMT
Elliot was desperately unlucky not to win the trainer's title at Cheltenham? Mullins was gifted the 1st, and Elliot could have won the last;  he only lost on placed horses in the end.

Oh well, that could be it for NH here; Aintree is unlikely to me. Punchestown could be the benefactor; Altior, Lostintranslation, Native River and possibly Paisley Park present.
Report duffy March 14, 2020 2:18 AM GMT
I'm surprised racing is still on now but fully expect time to be called on it very soon and that will probably be it for 3 months or so, no Guineas or Royal Ascot this year IMO.
Report irishone March 14, 2020 7:21 AM GMT
Elliot was desperately unlucky ? What planet are you on ? He was 6-3 up with 7 races to go
Report foxy March 14, 2020 7:32 AM GMT
Sageform

You hope the handicapper are ashamed and put the Irish horses up 5 lb ?

Handicap score was 5 each did you watch Cheltenham ?
Report impossible123 March 14, 2020 5:24 PM GMT
I think horse racing will continue but behind closed doors with those concerned quarantine a few days before and after racing including Newmarket; Aintree very possibly a no-show, I think.
Report irishone March 14, 2020 6:51 PM GMT
We dont have to be continualy be told "i think" or "i firmly believe" , we know its all about you, and the name on the top of the post tends to suggest its your thoughts or your beliefs, the value of which is relatively worthless.
