Has anyone on the forum been to Benidorm during the Festival? If so, would you recommend it?

The overall cost of going to Cheltenham is increasing every year and becoming too crowded so fancied a few days in the sun and something a bit different.

I went to Tenerife this year and it was cheaper to go there for a week than it is to go to the festival. Majority of pubs had the racing on etc so I'd imagine somewhere like Benidorm would be the same! Would recommend it but I did miss the buzz of being at the races so might alternate it every year.

Cost of four club tickets 360, three nights accommodation within an hour of racecourse some decent 500, clothes for festival 600, pocket money 400, travel for week 150. Watching your ante post gamble go in....priceless

Load of mates went to Benidorm for Cheltenham last year, and they're all going back again next year.

I got a villa in Tenerife with some mates for the week a couple years back, and that was ideal, too.

Bumped into a load of geysers from derby a few years ago, in tenerife to see the champions league final. So basically they are watching it on the box in a pub in tenerife rather than derby . Whats the point of that ? Surely you go to tenerife to get away from going down the local to watch football ? Not geting it at all. Benidorm is a million miles away from p p

We get a villa for the week with a pool/hot-tub & BBQ area about 10 minutes from Playas.

Plug a box into the TV at the Villa, so we watch the racing there, and then head out for dinner/drinks in the evening.

Nice holiday, not too expensive, and better than sitting in the house watching it.

There is a pub in Tenerife where there is a big good cup on the shelves behind the bar. Used to be called fosters think it's the Galway gal now, anyways there's a group of Brits go in there every year , Tuesday to Friday, you have to put your selections in the cup each day and at the end of the week the winningmost tipster gets their name on the trophy, now that I could do , once I get the bag, the wheelchair and the carer .....

Cheltenham is **** awful festival week, £6 a pint surrounded by too many feckin idiots that have no interest in racing, as opposed to benidorm when its usually around 18-20c and is £1 a pint and surrounded by feckin idiots with no interest in racing CoolCool.

Will be trying benidorm this year just for something different,
been  going cheltenham last few years march/nov price going up each year we go.
Going dublin festival again this year prices for tickets a lot better value than cheltenham.

Easy drink in there mate, tried all the others, even top of the best mate is a queue and a half, guiness tent all right in places, members a fecking nightmare. It took a few years to suss it out by far the easiest to get a beer and when you see quinny, merson and scholesy in there having a beer its gotta be easy enough.
