This was a top quality race, delta work , blow by blow already Cheltenham winners Delta Work acted on the ground a lot better than jp's le richebourg. We still dont know how good charlestown's one is..... with a clear round. Cadmium was beat fair and square but a lot of willies appear off colour at the moment rashann refused .... oh dear ..strong winner at galway blow by blow not suited by the good going
le richebourg the one to take out, great jump at the last, done by the ground

Not sure Le Richebourg was inconvenienced by the ground too much, he prefers decent ground and at worst it was good to soft today. I must admit I strongly fancied him today (and backed him), but I thought Delta Work won it well and did well to get back up after the last as Davy had lost an iron. If anything, Delta Work would have appreciated softer ground.
I think they're both top-drawer novices who should be competitive come Cheltenham.
Le Richebourg looks all over a JLT type and 25/1 for that looks too big to me. I haven't seen any post-race quotes yet, but I wonder if Delta Work will go down the JLT or RSA route, I've taken 10/1 for him to win any race.

No way he prefers decent ground, pulled out of good to firm races, won only once on good ground when at killarney it was actually more yielding in p!aces, high knee action, this horse needs the soft

I think Le Richebourg lost little in defeat today, the winner might be very samrt indeed. This is what JPOB was saying yesterday regarding the ground: “His couple of runs over fences have been very good. Obviously he’s been running on nice ground, which he seems to handle quite well,” said O’Brien, who has his string in tremendous form.
“He’s well since his win in Tipperary and this has been the plan since then.
“A lot of people are waiting for a bit of juice in the ground – it’s hard to believe it’s still good this far into the National Hunt season.
“But I suppose it’s to this fellow’s advantage so far as he likes a bit of nice ground – we’ll be keeping to good ground as far as possible through the winter.
“When the rain comes there’ll be no shortage of it, I imagine.”

After race at Killarney Thu, 20th Jul, 2017 (1st) "Jody said he came back on the bridle very quick after his mistake at the second last and he is a nice horse who can progress. I'd hope he'll run during the winter as it was good and soft when he ran twice in bumpers and his bumper form is top class. He wouldn't run on any ground better than today and we'll try and mind him." Joseph Patrick O'Brien. That day at Killarney it was good yielding in places, since then today was the only time he has run on anything near a "good" going surface , he's been running on yielding surfaces and that is where his wins have come. When he won at Galway , a maiden hurdle , it was on yielding ground and his high knee action coming up the hill suggested that day he was in his element. There were plenty of opportunities for him to run on good going over here let alone in the UK with the summer we have had. I believe JO'B thought Storm Diana was going to put a bit of juice in the ground, and he had to get a run into him before Christmas. I wont be backing him at Cheltenham unless, god willing, we get a nice shower or two on the morning of the race.

Davy said he was impressed by Le Richebourg transition to jumps on from his Grade 3 win in Tipperary BUT
Davy - we have a lot of very “big guns” to come out yet, there are some great beginners chases to come in Ireland (ass good as any Grade 1's) when asked about Delta Work for JLT or RSA.
So HOLD YOUR HORSES boys and don't get too excited was Davy's message !
