Now lets hope connections start thinking seriously about the 4 miler.
Hes not good enough to win an RSA,but he just may be good enough over another mile. Not sure what happened yesterday, but I still think he could be a big player in March given the right conditions. |

As I said on another thread yesterday's performance was a bit of a mystery. Before the slow jump at the cross fence I thought he was just biding his time and would pick them up in the straight. From the turn in he immediately looked a spent force. The least you would have expected was for him to have stayed on strongly. The Racing Post comments suggest he hadn't jumped fluently but I didn't see any mistakes. When a horse goes from travelling to nothing I think the safest bet is to assume some sort of problem. Another duff performance and you couldn't really fancy him for any race at Cheltenham.

Well i got that all wrong!! Now reverted back to hurdles and runs in the stayers.
Could have an e/w squeak if ground is on the soft side. Not sure hes good enough really to be honest, but he does like Cheltenham and I will have a dabble.....just in case. |

I can see this race really cutting up with Paisley Park scaring off a lot of opposition. Kilbricken Storm is unbeaten at Cheltenham (2 from 2), clearly likes the track and ground looks as if it could be on the soft side which will be in his favour. Currently available NRNB at 14/1 and I can see him being a lot shorter on the day.
This is what the trainer said about him recently: "He’s a bit of a forgotten horse but was very good against Elixir De Nutz, Master Debonair and Native River in a gallop at Wincanton. For a three-miler he was right up besides them and was brilliant. He was the one you'd take out of it as he nearly beat them over two miles. He was good afterwards, he came out of that as fresh as a button and he’s in lovely form. We went novice chasing and he was all right first time but then ran no sort of race at Newbury. Since we've had him back he's been straightforward. We couldn’t get a festival prep into him, but he's had two runs this season and a racecourse gallop. If they're not fit now, coming into March, having been in since July, then we're in trouble. I thought he won the Albert Bartlett quite easily last year, and it was not just a one off, he did back it up at Punchestown. If Harry Cobden is available he can ride him." |
