Surprised Nicholls has not mentioned this one in Cheltenham previews. Has run three cracking races at consecutive festivals and would have thought he'd be laid out for the Brown Advisory that he was placed in last year. Tempted for the 25s on offer.

Thanks Duffy...glad to hear..it's become so much harder recent years doing anything ante post on the handicaps with multiple entries. This race semed nailed on for it...Grand annual too short imo.

I think with Nicholls it's a plus if he doesn't mention them for the handicaps - he's had a fair few big priced hcap winners over the years and generally not the ones that he's 'bigged up'.

Fair play to him for admitting he lost his bottle as a jockey.

Bouvreuil......backed him both times he was 2nd,the very mention of his name still sends that horrible sensation somewhere deep down.

Asquires bang on.....the only thing I need to know is that my horse has not been mentioned, nice little earner these nights, for talking boll*cks and putting people away.

Pumpkin also will use headgear sparingly, when he does, take notice.

Yes given JP is the owner I suspect keeping quiet would be the tactic if it's fancied...can see it running a big race...

BF Sportsbook dropped it in to 16s today from 25/1...

Tweet: Do Bouvreuil or Le Prezien run at Chelt? If so, which races? #askpaul

Answer : They'll both probably run but I'm not sure in what races. We need to see the weights next week before making a decision.

That was asked on Nicholls Q&A on Betfair twitter last night

Ive already backed Bouvreuil for the Plate.

Only entered there or the Grand Annual and that looks a pretty straight forward decision to me.

Thanks jb. I would have thought Bouvreuil will need the distance of the plate and the grand annual would be too sharp. Not sure why the weights will be that relevant as both are exposed and known ORs. Just part of modern day trainers keeping cards close to their chest until the last possible moment. I can see both JP's running in the plate.

ORs are known fist, but weight to be carried is not. If the top weights come out, everyone goes up and some horses don't want to be carrying big weights in these races.
The Grand Annual, if memory serves, went years and years without anything winning with more than 11-00.

Fair point Desmond..just can't imagine they've not run the slide rule through the preobabilities. Part of the issue is the range of choices nowadays with the 4 day meeting. Not great for the ante post punter.
