Out of curiosity Dontbesakhee, was your Let's Dance bet at 13.5 on the exchange at some point? As I can remember her being 7/2 best price with most bookies for the Mares Novice straight after last years festival!
Those are some prices on Edwulf, only wish I had taken the bigger prices when they were going! |
By:
Morning, it was exchanges. I don't really remember why I backed it, I think I was looking for a play in a race that would probably cut up. Checked it and I did it on 14 January. I think it was the second season Novice angle that I was looking at. I'm being greedy at the moment as I haven't layed any of it off, if it gets much shorter I may have to.
As for Edwulf I'm just hoping the Coney Island defection doesn't mean he gets shifted. Apart from the 20, all of it is NRNB, but I'd rather have him run for me and lose with prices I'm carrying, than simply get the bulk of my stake back. |
By:
i have baccked edwulf at average prices around 20s all on here ,just hope they dont defect !
By:
I am 'hopeful' that JP won't move him. Generally JP's horses go where they are meant to, as we can see with CH, with three possible runners, rather than just splitting them all up just to have runners everywhere.

accas are bookie benefit bets, they love them.
that's why they stick this chris kamara "edit your acca" ad on all the time. They know they're mug bets. Hard enough to pick one winner at cheltenham let alone several. Having said all that my biggest win at the festival was when I had Our Conor and Bobs Worth in a double a few years back ![]() |
By:
Obviously it depends lewisham ranger. Backing 2-4 horses on the nose in handicaps at cheltenham is like throwing money at bookies and about as mug like as it gets. However, doubles and trebles aimed to place or lump doubles on strong favourites are where I have made the most money at cheltenham. I remember last year where a Vautour / Thistlecrack double was near on 5/1. Loaded and lumped and rolled around in gravy!!!
By:
presumably though most of the people who have posted accas up here which look very promising have also done a lot of accas already this festival that have fallen by the wayside, which they haven't told us about.
you say that backing 2-4 horses on the nose is like throwing money at bookies but why is it? surely it's all the price. either the horse is value or it isn't. actually using that logic the point I was originally trying to make was rubbish anyway, singles or accas it doesn't really matter, it's all about whether the horses are value or not |
By:
lewisham i agree the bookies luv a multi ,but to the average punter the acca offers a possibility of a life changer and for me i only do accas/multis at the festival so once a year ,struck lucky with 3 out of 4 at big prices a few years back the treble and doubles paid several thousand but the acca wif succesfull would have been pushing £400,000 for a steak of roughy a ton ! it offers a the dream !
