Fantasy this is indeed, but if I owned these horses and thought sod it, here's how going to set them out, this is what I'd do (accepting I'm a zillionaire so supplementing is but a mere inconvenience of paperwork)
1) Altior is the fastest NH horse (hurdler) for the last 4 years so I'd switch to Champion Hurdle & balls to the Arkle. His Supreme was faster than any before it I believe (on good to soft) certainly quicker than Douvan's and Vautour's and the all conquering Istabraq's champion hurdles. His performance last year was breath-taking and also has been over fences. But, in my fantasy world, off to the Champion Hurdle my boy. Faugheen or no Faugheen he's got the speed in the book and the racing experience now. What a prize!
2) Vroom Vroom - needs longer, send to Stayers Hurdle
3) Limini - Mares hurdle
4) Thistlecrack. Defo supplement for the Stayers Hurdle. If there's any soft ground (or heavy on the Tuesday) I think Native River and Bristol de Mai could catch him out. Have the option!
5) Cue Card - stay with the Gold Cup - live the dream
And finally, whilst in fantasy land (no I've not been drinking... only tea!) if I could go back in time and stand at the winning post and watch a re-run and cheer it home once more, it would be (close call with Best Mate's 3rd gold cup but I was there for that, this was a TV screaming session

Anzum, Stayers Hurdle 1999, 40/1 beating Lady Rebecca and Le Coudray. Best commentary I've ever heard on a Cheltenham Race in my lifetime.

I agree, Altior is the best 2 miler around, i only think that nicky sent him chasing as he jumps so well and Sprinter Sacre has made him want to do it all over again.
Not a fan of Vroom or Limini. I dreamt that Thistlecrack won the stayers and the next day won the gold cup.  Anzum, i had a £5ew on that beast, Even thou i didnt win that much i have never cheered so much. |

Horses running in the Champion Hurdle having ran over fences had a bad record. I'll admit I don't know many have tried. However since Beech Road and Morley did this in 1989 and 1991 only two have been placed (Pridwell in 1996 and Khyber Kim in 2010). Pridwell, Mister Morose and Geos fourth. Buveur D'Air and Yorkhill (if supplemented face this problem). I think a couple of Stayers Hurdle winners went chasing in the early 90s/late 80s but I can only think of Big Buck's afterwards winning (I don't know about placed horses). I think Thistlecrack should have gone chasing last year or stayed over hurdles this year.
