Bumper Winner?

Isn't JP a bit like Gigg in the sense he doesn't run good ones in the Cheltenham Bumper?

On the contrary he is desperate to win it  - Henderson has never won it either . JP was 4th last year Castelo Sforza , 2015 2nd Modus and 4th Yanworth , 2014 3rd Joshua Lane , 2013 2nd Regal Encore .
Hitting the woodwork etc. He usually has a couple in . Champ is now 20/1 after todays performance- still think he looks a better hurdling prospect .

Think Henderson is pretty averse to it and has only had a couple in over the years, which is strange considering the (Bumper) firepower at his disposal.

Seem to remember him feeling it bottoms out young horses too early in their careers

Tend to agree with him with Cue Card being the exception to the rule - depends how much JP wants a winner in the race although given how much they like the horse they may go easy on him until next year.

"He's done masses of schooling and we can go novice hurdle next season and chasing later on. He has his whole life ahead of him.

"He's still the undefeated Champ, but he's not a champ yet."
